School Safety Demos

Tri-State EMC is all about electricity – how to be safe around electricity, that is. It’s never too early for children to begin learning how to stay safe, so TSEMC offers a free electric safety program to schools in the co-op’s service area.

Tri-State employees recently brought this safety program to West Fannin Elementary school. Tri-State used a trailer, equipped with a miniature power line, to demonstrate how power operates, the potential dangers of electricity and how children can avoid these pitfalls.

Tri-State EMC Superintendent Terry Arp showed students the parts of an underground transformer and explained to the students how it worked.

The students got to get on the trailer and examine up close the miniature power lines. Tri-State EMC Mapping and Staking Manager Todd Taylor discussed with the students the differences in the power lines.
