Each year, Tri-State EMC takes three high school juniors to Washington, D.C., as part of the Georgia Electric membership Cooperative Washington Youth Tour to learn about history, government and leadership.
The winners of the 2023 Tri-State EMC Writing Competition Scholarship were Kira Hyatt, from Copper Basin High School; Kendra Newman from Fannin County High School, and Blake Dotson from Hiwassee Dam High School.
Whether it be through the Youth Tour program or scholarships, supporting the future of these students and the communities they represent is an investment that will create a brighter future for us all,” says Stacy Chastain, General Manager of Tri-State EMC. “We are excited to see them grow their talents and knowledge.
